Plan your giving

Zakat calculator

Estimate Zakat on savings, business assets, shares, gold, silver, farm produce, livestock or income. No account is needed to calculate. This does not create a contribution or authorise a deduction.

What would you like to calculate?

Choose one type. Savings, business assets and shares are added together against one nisab, as Zakat requires.

Your savings, business and shares

Enter what you own on your Zakat date, in the currency chosen below. Only fill in what applies; leave the rest at 0. Do not count the same money twice.

Money

Counted when it is repaid, so it is not added here.

Shares and investments

Leave blank to count the full market value, the cautious option.

Business

Equipment, premises and vehicles are not counted.

Debts

Your metal holdings

Enter pure-metal equivalent units: 1 Dinar = 4.25 g of pure gold; 1 Dirham = 2.975 g of pure silver. Convert coins of lower purity to their pure-metal equivalent first; a 22-carat coin is not one pure-gold Dinar.

This separate-metal estimate uses an inclusive threshold of 20 Dinars (85 g gold) or 200 Dirhams (595 g silver). The estimate is 2.5% in the same metal unit, rounded to six decimal places. No market-price lookup is needed. To add metal to your other savings, use Savings, business & shares instead.

Your harvest

Zakat on farm produce is due at harvest; no holding year is needed. The nisab is 5 awsuq, about 653 kg.

How was the land watered?

Shows the value of what is due.

Not deducted; recorded for your reference.

Your animals

Enter the animals you have owned for a full lunar year.

Your income

This uses the contemporary view of paying on income as it is received. The four schools count only what you save; for that, use Savings, business & shares.

For rent: the property's running costs.

Currency and nisab prices

Halfi’s price provider quotes gold and silver in US dollars and naira. For pounds or euros, tick this to convert the US-dollar nisab with the latest daily rate from Halfi’s exchange-rate feed. The rate and its source are shown with your result.

Provider quotes use stored pure-metal prices; NGN, GBP and EUR conversion use Halfi’s configured exchange rates. Your own prices are treated as unverified estimates.

Only needed when entering your own prices

This estimate uses 2.5% (lunar year), with 595 g of silver as the inclusive nisab and 85 g of gold as a reference. Gold is not a maximum wealth limit.
